A clear-up operation is under way after Jersey was hit by flash-flooding. Several roads were left under up to 3-ft of water as torrential rain fell on the Island around Saturday lunchtime. The worst hit areas were St Ouen and St Peter, particularly St Peter's Valley. There were a number of landslides in the area and the road through the valley was left strewn with rocks and branches. The States police closed the road running from St Ouen's Village to St Peter's Village after it suffered what they described as 'extreme flooding'. A suspected gas blast in a Barcelona bakery this morning has left one person fighting for life many more injured. The first and larger blast occurred around 7am local time and was followed by a much smaller explosion. About 13,000 western Sonoma County customers were without power for about 90 minutes on Friday, PG and E said. Rescuers saved 68 passengers after a ferry sank in rough seas off Cape Town on Friday. The ferry were en route to Robben Island when strong winds turned it upside down, according to the City of Cape Town. The passengers have all been safely evacuated from the sinking vessel and ferried to the ferry jetty, said Theo Layne, spokesperson for City of Cape Town. Anyone who has consumed raw milk or raw milk products from a certain Texas dairy within a roughly 2-month period this summer should immediately contact a health care provider, the CDC and Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS), are urging.
